4 Stars Solid headset, and quite comfortable
I’m usually skeptic about voice accessories for game consoles. They have a reputation of being overly styled, cumbersome and just uncomfortable. Several products–including the original Xbox Headset with Communicator–lived up to these expectations with depressing regularity.
Even the so-called “elite” headsets, like Xbox Plantronics Gamecon Halo 2 Headset Communicator, don’t really do it for me. I don’t know about you, but I can’t really stand anything that goes into the ear. (ick!)
I had given up on mainstream voice hardware, but then I saw this model Xbox Headset with Communicator and decided to give it a try. The price is reasonable enough to justify a trial use.
To my amazement, it’s incredibly comfortable. The microphone is actually shrouded in foam (to muffle those staccato P’s and T’s when speaking in the heat of battle) and the behind-the-neck design is no more uncomfortable than a heavy-duty pair of sunglasses. (just don’t try to lean back in your chair)
As an insightful bit of design, the neck-piece is a masterpiece. Each side has a soft-rubber strip that gently rests on the backs of the ears. The neck-band is rigid and comfortably grasps the sides of the head. These two features combined make this headgear on-par with my studio-quality stereo headphones in terms of comfort.
The controller adapter is standard Microsoft specifications and features a ‘mute’ button right on the front, so you can easily talk to someone in the room as you would to someone online. Volume control is on the top and just as accessible.
Add to these the ability to switch the earpiece and boom (detachable) to the left or the right of the neck-band, and you have a solid performer. Looks cool, too… it has the ‘old-school’ charm of the original Xbox, but in a headset that’s also compatible with the Xbox 360; A good find!
4 Stars Xbox Headset
This product is good for a while until the connecter breaks and then some people go out and buy another headset and other people use glue and tape, but all i do is take the communicater part that broke off and slide it under the left ear (the actual thing that goes around your head) and then snap it back in place. Yea, it doesn’t stay on your head great, but it does work and thats the way I use it. The only thing that I found that I dont like is that the communicater goes bad after a while. First I have to adjust the cord just right and then after a month of that, it doesn’t work anymore. This is a good headset for about 6 months till the connection finally breaks
2 Stars Breaks easily
The headset broke in the same day my son received it. So I remember reading on here, that this may happen and to just purchase a good headset to go with the communicator, so we did. Bought a headset at Radio Shack, put them together and he was in business. So, half the product is great, the other half breaks like glass. Purchase only for the communicator.
3 Stars have to buy a new mic tommorrow
ok…i have had this mic for 1 and a half years….after about 6 months the part that holds the mic and headset detached….yes it was an easy fix with cement glue and tape but still….ok and now you cant hear out of the earpiece so i have to keep it speakers but my mic still works….i dont highly reccommend it but its ok…just be careful with it
3 Stars X-box Communicator
The headset is the X-Box standard. I didn’t expect much from this product but did need a 2nd pair overal. Playing FarCry on system link is definately better with a headset. The (Halo 2) by Plantronics headset I have is much better. I got it on sale in toys R Us (…). This one was for my roomate and he didnt care what kind of headset he had. My roommate seems to like it but likes my Plantronics better.

5 Stars Great Controller
This controller is great. I enjoy talking trash on halo 2 now, and the controller is very well built.
5 Stars The quality I have come to expect from gamester has been exceeded
So A few years back I bought a controller like this one by gamester and loved it, then i BOught another one that had an invert switch and then this one over the course of like three years and they all still work perfect, and this one is by far the best, the intergrated communicator works perfect and i love not having to have it sticking out, the grip of this controller is also amazing, and all though I do expect the rubber thumbstick grips to come off they haven’t yet but they did on my other gamester controllers, it really isn’t that bad, cause you still have a groove to put your thumb in, as well it allows for homemade grips, of course you can also contact gamester and they well at first i sent them my controller and they gave me a new one, and I think they still do that or they send you new grips with the howto put them on or something, but yeah to sum it up this controller is a solid xbox controller that is great for communicating on live
5 Stars sweet
I have had this controller for about 4 months now, and the headset that came with it just broke, i would have liked this controller alot better if it was wireless.
as other reviewers have said it is flimsy and creaks, i have not experienced that and i have thrown it at my wall before ( i was playing halo 2, i was about to beat the game and the power whent out) and it stayed together and i have snapped two ps2 dual shock controllers and 1 xbox controller s controllers clean in half before and i couldn’t break this one.
excellent product worth every penny except for the headset, it will last a few months but thats all.
5 Stars Great over-all controller!
Purchase and shipping took just a week… with GREAT efficiency. The controller itself is slightly smaller than the newest XBOX S-Controller… but not by much. This smaller size adds to the comfort. As for the “invert switch”, personal preference is what matters. It inverts the right control stick… not the left (just to be clear). If one is playing a Shooter and decides to switch to a Third Person adventure game for example… instead of going through each game’s seperate menus just flip the switch and it’s taken care of. I have not yet tested the Live Communicators but for coming with the controllers… there’s no harm right? The durability of these controllers is far past that of other “third-party” controllers. Each button has plenty of “action” if you will… I play every day and each button feels perfectly warn in while keeping integrity. Overall… perfect 5. I’ll rebuy these if/when the ones I own now wear out (IF they wear out!).
5 Stars Great Deal
For the money, this controller and communicator are a great deal. They are good quality and releyable. The controller has no drift and the communicator works great.

Rocky

In Ubi Soft’s Rocky the cartoonish spinning, backwards punches, and rope-crashing choreography of the movie franchise are replaced by sound boxing fundamentals and realistic moves. Boxing purists will be well pleased with the realistic game design, including dead-on graphics and enough jab, hook, clinch, and taunt capability to satisfy any blood lust. Movie fans will enjoy controlling or opposing all the Rocky legends from the Ali-esque “King of Sting, Master of Disaster” Apollo Creed to Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and more. While the gameplay isn’t a giant leap forward (even from boxing classics like Sega Genesis’ Evander Holyfield’s Real Deal Boxing) this game is a must-have for Rocky fans, a good buy for boxing fans, and a pleasant–if not revolutionary–choice for gamers. –Patty Stuart
Pros
- Re-creates the look and feel of the Rocky movies
- Multiplayer capability
- Features all of Rocky’s movie adversaries
Cons
- AI quickly becomes predictable and easy
- Scoring system has an eight-point minimum per round
- Complicated training exercises can limit progress

4 Stars Fun, but I’ve seen better
I am a big Rocky fan. I really like the movies and they are very inspirational to me. When I bought the game, I was very excited to play Rocky whom is my favorite movie character of all time. There are many combos of punches you can use against your opponents. The game has good graphics and short computer generated movies which are a little bit funny. The fights get a little bit more challenging as you progress into the game. I found the game to be a little bit too short. Other than that, it is an excellent game. I give it 4 stars and not 5 because I have played other games which are longer and more intense, such as Halo and Halo 2. Overall, I was glad that I bought the game. I had a lot of fun with it. If you are a Rocky fan, then you should buy this game because you will probably enjoy it a lot just like me. Thanks for reading and I hope my review was helpfull. Bye now.
4 Stars Nice
This game is pretty bad ass, the trainings are difficult but once you know how to do them you can get your stats up real good, the bruising and blood that doesnt go away is great, and who doesnt like the underdog Rocky.
The only problems i have with it are the stamina training (hella hard) and the intro cut scene is actual movie footage but all the others are computer animated (and look ok but ide rather see real movie ones)
If you like Rocky movies this game is great, but dont spend more than twenty-five
on it
5 Stars when you feel pissed this game may help!
This game is kicking-ass! Somebody says that the training is tedious. You can always auto-train and save your concentration on the movie mode. Way easy to beat? I read the review on gamespot.com saying that with timing punches you can easily beat the players. It’s true for the Novice level, but not for Contender and Champion modes, particuly for some all-around, quick and hard-hitting players at later stages of the game. You have to practice the combos and at least master 2 or 3 set of skills in order to knock out your contenders quickly and effectly, because Rocky is inheritantly weaker than his opponents in many ways (e.g. stamina).
Once you practice and practice you will really enjoy the fun of the big swing, upper-cut (damage 38, as opposed to 1 per “timing punch”) after making your opponents dizzy. When you learn most of the skills and effective combos you will feel good about yourself. When you piss at your boss, come back home and use Rocky to knock you out of your anger. This will make your feel great again.
5 Stars simplemente genial
