5 Stars Rallisport Challenge 2 is addictive gaming at it’s best
This game is the only reason I still own an original xbox. Shame it’s not backward compatible with the 360.
5 Stars One of the best Rally games ever made
If you like Rally and Off Road racing, this deep game has excellent graphics, tunning before any race, and a good variety of climates, events and tracks in America and Europe.
5 Stars Awesome game!
One of my favorite rally games out there, the wrecks are outstanding, plus being able to race other cars on the track makes it nice as well (crashing is fun XD)
5 Stars Tiny framerate issues anyone??
I resently got this game because I was looking for a good rally game for the xbox, and damn it is. Before purchasing this game i read alot of reviews about this game and all of them specified that the game had a rock solid framerate, but In some instances of the game while playing against 3 opponents In ice racing (any track) the framerate slows quite a bit but only when you are close and in front of your opponents. Why din’t anyone notice this?? From all the reviews i’ve read none have reported this small issue, or maybe my xbox is getting old or something…
But beside that this game Is worth buying.
5 Stars The best Rally game out there…
I had to write a review entirely because the spotlight review was written by someone who hadn’t ‘got’ this game or taken the time to explore the settings.
Actually, I see reviews all the time claim this game is an ‘arcade’ rally game, indicating that perhaps the game lacks depth, maybe has unrealistic physics, or even simple fake graphics.
All of these points are wrong. Completely false. The cars handle extremely realistically, and most folks who play this agree this is the BEST looking racer available. Better than Forza? Not sure, but better than PGR2 by a hundred – double the frame rate for start. You see, not least of which is the 60fps you get with a HD TV, but add to that the amazing reflections, muddy splashes, infinite distance view (with a tiny amount of inconsequential pop-up trees) and you have a showcase game. I’ve had more than one PS2 owner go out and buy an XBOX for this game after playing it in my house – testament indeed to the incredible realism this Rally racer offers.
Previously, the ‘easy left’ that you co-pi states was mentioned as a fault… When your rally co-pilot claims ‘Easy left’ or ‘hard right’ then you have the game on arcade setting.
A simple click in the settings would result in ’3 left opens to 4′ or ’1 right, opens to 3. Bump onto straight through tunnel. Hairpin right’ offering a much more useful, accurate indication of the upcoming road conditions.
Ultimately – this game is stunning. Worth every penny of the budget price it’s currently at – if you’re hesitant due to lax reviews, don’t be. I’ve put in hundreds of hours on this amazing game and it’s a real as the Xbox can get.

4 Stars Great game, few minor flaws, but very fun to play
This is the first rally game I’ve played since VRally 99′ for N64. But I was staring this title down at Circuit City and decided to buy it. I did not realize until I got home and looked up the reviews (yes, after already buying it, lol) that it was a member of the Colin McRae family of Rally games. Well anyway, it’s a GREAT game, and a lot of fun to play. Here’s my pros and cons, take them for what they’re worth:
Pros:
-The graphics are great, everything looks realistic, and the cars look fantastic
-Career mode is cool, forces you to use every vehicle in the game, and most of which are a lot of fun, I enjoyed most the Subaru Impreza (naturally).
Cons: These are minor and easily overlooked, but I would like to see them in the next game:
-I’m almost finished with my career mode, and much to my surprise, not a single NIGHT rally. What gives? This rally game should include some night rallys where my only guiding light comes from my headlights, honestly, that’d be awesome
-No snow rallys?! Again what gives, there’s rally’s with “snowy” enviroments, but none where you’re actually driving on the snow and constantly drifting. At least 2 or 3 would have been nice.
-Floaty feeling cars. Like others have said, the cars feel a bit “floaty” but it doesn’t detract from the fun of the game… it’s challenging, and exciting.
The game is great. But the lack of night and snow rallys upset me. VRally 99 for N64 had both of these and they were great. Why can’t this game have them.
3 Stars good but not great
a great game to pick-up on a sale. gets repetitive after first 6 games in career mode. but if you like racing and getting sideways like the pros a definite buy.
4 Stars I’m sooooo dirty
Other than Colin Mcrae’s irritating “great job, good going, you will get them next time, I think your ready for Pro AM, etc” comments every time you are going into or coming out of a race – this game is a sweet, fun-filled ride.
The graphics are awesome, the game play is realistic and fun, and lastly the vehicles are a quality variety.
Why give you all the details of the game – it is totally worth the money.
4 Stars Racing MUST OWN
Great damage details
Great Gameplay
Great Variety of Racing Classes
Great explanation by pastrana (the master)
Needs More vehicles (but it does have all the best ones)
Mini-Games?
3 Stars Wonderfull scenarios, low driving realism
I bought this game because I loved Collin McRae Rally for PC. The scenarios are wonderfull, sometimes it seems like a movie, not CG. Unfortunatelly the driving miss realism. The car’s damage simulation are fine but driving feels like the car is floating, it is very difficult to keep it on the road and light turns on the wheel makes the car slide like it was over ice. Compared to Forza Motorsport, Forza is much better in the driving simulation, even without a racing wheel controller you can feel more control over the car. I’d give it 10 for the graphics and car damage simulation but only 5 for the driving simulation.
